Spanish artist and designer Maximo Riera has created a new throne. A throne for people ready to stand up for their choice and taste. Indeed, the Octopus Chair will let nobody indifferent: either you like its mad statuesque beauty or you hate its disturbing and viscous appearance.

Part of a larger collection entitled Animal chairs, this work – a limited edition of 20 – fuses the shape of the cephalopod with furniture. The motionless object looks almost alive.

The Octopus chair was produced using a CNC milling machine and more than thirty professional workers. Sculpting was achieved by mechanized tools that produced forms cut from foam. Each part was then glued, sanded and painted by hand.
