Armenian born artist Tigran Tsitoghdzyan was discovered at an early age, he started painting at 5 years old with oil painting and went on to do his first exhibition in his hometown at 10 which later traveled to the United States and European countries.
Currently based in New York, the artist draws his inspiration from the extremely diverse city.
Tigran’s current works are centered on the idea that the world in which we live in is experiencing a “technological renaissance”. In an interview to Visual Language magazine, the artist describes his ongoing interest for social media and how people interact in this new era of technology. “It’s the era of selfies,” he says, referring to pictures people take of themselves on their phones and cameras. This fascination with self-reflection is captured in Tigran’s work “mirror”, a series of oils on canvas.
